Have you ever wondered how our predecessors kept records and passed on messages? Badlit is the pre-colonial writing system of ancient Visayans. It is also known as Suyat/Surat/Suwat Bisaya/Binisaya. Take a step back in time and learn how to write our native script from Badlit teacher, Minxie Villaver.
About the instructor
Minxie Villaver is a writer, editor, educator and co-founder of Karakoa Productions. Her passion for precolonial Visayan culture has made her one of the most visible figures in the realm of local history and heritage preservation. From online content to in-person workshops, Karakoa Productions is on a mission to raise awareness and deepen our appreciation for the shared past.
